Board
approves going out to bid for a new Superintendent Vehicle
Mayor Catalano requested
that the Village Board allow the Superintendent to go out to bid
for a new vehicle. This actually will save the General Fund
because the Recreation Director will get the older Superintendent
Vehicle, a donation from the Electric Fund to the General Fund.
As for the Electric Fund, the current vehicle has been fully
depreciated and therefore, monies are available to purchase the
new one.

Jim Hamilton, Electric Superintendent, notified the Board that
Diane Meleen Grant, Account Clerk-Typist in the Village Electric
Department and Major in the United
States Army Reserves has been called to active duty effective December 2, 2003.
Diane’s orders specify a 365 day tour of duty and she may be stationed
in Afghanistan, Iraq or Cuba in operation Enduring Freedom. At our November

and quick return home. Jim’s thoughts and concerns echo all of ours
here at the Village of Westfield. Diane, we wish you a safe and effective operation
and are extremely proud of your service to the United States.
As a very important
and happy side note: Ms. Meleen recently was married to another Village employee,
Mark Grant from our Water Pollution Control Facility. Congratulations
Diane and Mark!
