A view of the thriving Westfield downtown district.

Welcome to the Village of Westfield municipal Website!

Having celebrated its 200th birthday in July of 2002, Westfield is considered the first formally-organized settlement in Chautauqua County. With a number of natural and historic landmarks (many included on the National Park Services' Register of Historic Places), Westfield is also a developmentally-friendly rural community that has a strong agricultural economic base. With a reverence and appreciation for its own and the region’s history and natural resources, Westfield is a wonderful place to live, do business and visit.

A Message from Mayor Ronald D. Catalano

It’s my privilege to welcome you to the Village of Westfield online. Our website has been developed to enhance your understanding of village government and the significant role it plays in this community. More importantly, this site serves as yet another means of access to the information and public services we provide, as well as those offered by many of the other fine organizations that make Westfield their home.

We are truly blessed with a number of educational, historical, cultural, and natural attractions and resources. Whether it’s a trip to the esteemed Patterson Library to find your latest fiction title or one of the many fine works on exhibit throughout the year in the Octagon Gallery, to a tour of the Historic Lincoln-Bedell statues on the “Seaway Trail Walks,” I know that you’ll be pleased with all that is available to experience.

However, just a sliver of time spent in our community will make it obvious that our most important asset and that which continues to contribute to our enduring quality of life, is quite simply the caring and committed people from all backgrounds that make their home or business in Westfield. That’s the granite-like foundation that has made and will continue to provide residents and visitors alike a unique and fulfilling experience.

Come and enjoy all that we have to offer.

The development of this site was made
possible by funding provided by the
New York State Archives.
